Pippa Duncan, publisher

The Publisher

LIVING IN Richmond & Kew magazine is independently owned and published by local resident and businesswoman, Pippa Duncan:

I wanted to create a handy, truly local magazine & directory that would help publicise small businesses to the local population. With costs kept low to offer great value advertising, smaller companies – especially those without a ‘shop front’ – are able to promote their services in a quality publication to the people who really want to use them – the locals. The cost to advertise compared to local newspapers and not-so-local A4 magazines is minimal, meaning small businesses can afford to show the locals what they offer over a number of months.

I have lived in the Richmond area for nearly 20 years and know it well. But it is through running the magazine that I have met a whole new part of the community – the business community – who help to make the borough the great place that it is. These businesses are, like mine, on the whole small independents who need the support of locals to succeed.

Through the magazine I have also got to talk to many residents I would not have otherwise met and it is wonderful to have so much support.
