Kew Gardens
The annual Egg Hunt at Kew Gardens is a tradition for many local families at Easter. As well as the hunt, there will be lots of other Easter-related activities for children, such as chocolate workshops.

Hampton Court Palace
Visit the kitchens of Hampton Court – the only surviving Royal chocolate kitchen in the country – where the kids can learn about the chocolate making process and the secret of George I’s luxury choc drink. There are also family trails with quizzes, fun facts and activities.

London Wetlands Centre
A great Spring day out for all the family, with plenty of babies, bugs and buds. A great Easter hunt for the missing ducklings through the acres of the Wetlands nature reserve will keep small children occupied for hours. Find the ducklings and win a chocolate prize. Also arts and crafts sessions.

Ham House
Ham House is said to be one of the most haunted houses in the country, but during the Easter holidays, it is full of fun activities for children. A great outdoor Easter trail. Complete the challenges and win a Cadbury’s chocolate treat. Trails open 10am-4.30pm.

Strawberry Hill House
Children can enter the mystical woodland at Strawberry Hill House as part of the enchanted Easter Adventure Trail, finding clues and answering riddles, leading them to the naughty gnomes. Suitable for all ages.

BCA Duck Race
This year the Barnes Community Association Duck Race takes place on Saturday, 15 April. The race, along Beverley Brook, is always hugely popular locally – last year around 500 ducks took to the water! There are chocolate prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

Putney Arts Theatre
Holiday project, Giants and Dream Jars (3-7 April), for 7-11 year olds, £112. An action packed week of theatre exploring Roald Dahl’s story of that very big giant.
Also Hansel and Gretel’s Great Adventure (10-12 April) for 4-7 year olds, £70. Can the children defeat the wicked witch and find their way home through the woodland, resisting the scrumptious gingerbread house and all those delicious sweets?
All the projects take place on the main stage at the theatre and end with a performance for friends and family.
