Richmond borough residents can now have their say on plans to introduce a borough-wide 20mph speed limit. Earlier this year the Council announced its intention to reduce the speed limit on all roads (except the A316 and A205) to 20mph. This would not only reduce vehicle speeds, but they say evidence shows that it should reduce the number and severity of road accidents, too. It will also bring the speed limit into line with neighbouring councils, such as Wandsworth and Hounslow. From 24 September, residents are being sent consultation materials to their home and are being invited to have their say online.
